Great Falls United Methodist Preschool has provided quality education in a loving, Christian environment for over 60 years. It is a ministry of the Great Falls United Methodist Church. The preschool files annually the requirements as specified in Section 63.2-1716 of the Code of Virginia to be a Religious Exempt Center.

In addition to our highly experienced and exceptionally qualified staff, we are proud of the partnership parents and teachers form to provide the best possible environment for the growth and development of “our” children. The ultimate goal of this partnership is to enable each child to be better prepared for and interested in learning while acquiring a sense of his/her own unique worth.

Our curriculum includes all of the benchmarks of the Fairfax County Early Learning Guidelines for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. In addition, our curriculum encourages independence, creativity, and spiritual growth. Local elementary school teachers tell us we are succeeding in meeting our goals. They recognize our students as being truly ready for kindergarten.

Meet Our Wonderful Staff

Great Falls United Methodist Preschool is composed of wonderful, loving, and patient teachers, many of which have served our school for decades. Almost all of our teachers have had children and/or grandchildren attend our preschool, so it’s near and dear to our hearts and a part of our family traditions. GFUMP is truly more than a school, it is a family.

In addition to having a natural love for children, the staff has received degrees ranging from Early Childhood Education to English, English Literature, Masters in Preschool Deaf Education, Masters in Counseling, Elementary Education, Communications, Sociology, and Speech Pathology. Our preschool is a foundation for learning, free play, friendships and a team of loving hearts is our standard. Most of our teachers reside in the Great Falls community and love seeing their students around town!
